INDIA 2016

The Mayapuris ‘Heart of Yoga Tour’ to South India and Mayapur

Experience the true essence of India. Visit ancient temples of Visnu in Tirupati, Shiva in Mahabalipuram, and Shakti in Kanchipuram. We will sing together and learn the lore of these sites. Savor the finest South Indian cuisine and treat yourself to Ayurvedic massage, rejuvenating treatments, and ocean baths.

Then come home with us to the village of Mayapur, West Bengal! We spent our formative years studying the art and science of sacred sound in this birthplace of Kirtan. We delight in sharing this mystical place with you where the effects of kirtan are strongly magnified.  Here we will bathe in the Ganges, visit sacred kirtan sites, discuss the history, and of course, chant and dance together. Mayapuris will be conducting regular workshops on Kirtan, specifically Mridanga drum, kartal hand cymbals, and singing. Immerse yourself in sacred sound in the land of Kirtan.

Throughout the entire retreat we find time to have deep and enlivening yoga classes with Bryn from Yogamaya. We team up together and supply her class with live music and sacred chants. It’s definitely an experience you’d like to have :)

Join the Mayapuris for our annual India retreat!
